30 July 2024

SAICTA’s July Digital Dawn event showcased the power of ICT collaboration, spotlighting critical cybersecurity issues that have tremendous consequences for both the ICT and business sectors. Setting the stage for this discussion was our host partner, Nedbank; and collaborator, FIT.

The event underscored cybersecurity as an existential risk, emphasising that cross-sectoral digital transformation requires solid security foundations. Discussions highlighted the importance of awareness, education, and compliance beyond regulations. Generative AI and third-party usage were identified as major threats, necessitating tailored threat profiles. The need for collaboration between private sectors and government agencies was stressed to fast-track the adoption of new technologies, manage vulnerabilities, and enhance security.

24 April 2024

SAICTA’s efforts to unify the local ICT sector for regional advancement were on full display at the recent Digital Dawn event on 24 April.

The event was a lively gathering of ICT professionals, academics, and others connected to the industry. With insights from Corneil Clasen, Managing Director at Stackworx.io, we explored the concept of momentum metrics—how a sense of forward motion and shared vision in development teams can foster innovation and motivation.

The need for collaboration in the ICT sector was clear, as ICT and business stakeholders require a common language—like the momentum metric—to align the diverse players involved in a development project.
